Our conference venue is the Church House a conference center of the Protestant Academy Baden. It is located in Bad Herrenalb, a spa town in the northern Black Forest near Karlsruhe and about 2 hours from Frankfurt by train.

How to get there?

Public transport

By train to Karlsruhe main station (Karlsruhe Hbf), then with suburban train S1.

Take the S1 via Ettlingen to Bad Herrenalb Bahnhof. The suburban train leaves directly in front of the main station. From Bad Herrenalb Bahnhof by foot (see below), with the bus lines 113/116 or by taxi.

By foot from Bahnhof Bad Herrenalb (about 10 minutes walk)

The conference site is located behind the catholic church St. Bernhard at the hillside. The church (made of red sandstone) is visible from Bahnhof Bad Herrenalb.

We recommend the following route:

From Bahnhof Bad Herrenalb follow the Bahnhofstrasse leaving the park to your left until you reach  Ettlinger Strasse. Cross the street at the crosswalk and turn left into Bleichweg. After 100 meters turn right into  Flachsteinweg. At the end of this street you will see the conference site on the hillside on the right. You may find the map helpful, on which we have also marked Hotel Sonnenhof and Hotel Harzer.

By car

From the north (Frankfurt/Mannheim) or from the south (Freiburg/ Basel/Strassburg) via motorway A5  take the exit Karlsruhe-Ettlingen.From the east (München/Ulm/Stuttgart) via motorway A8 change onto the A5 towards Basel and then take  the next exit Karlsruhe-Ettlingen.

From the exit Karlsruhe-Ettlingen follow the traffic signs to Bad Herrenalb (about 20 km).

At the center of Bad Herrenalb turn left at the roundabout towards Dobel/Pforzheim. After 500 meters you will see the conference site on the left.

Airports

The next airports are Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (FKB) and Frankfurt (FRA).

From Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden there are direct busses to Karlsruhe main station (line 140). From Frankfurt Airport there are fast trains (ICE) to Karlsruhe main station. From here take the suburban train S1 to Bad Herrenalb which departs in front of the main entrance.
